Born in Wuhan, China, Gogo moved to Beijing with her family and spent most of her adolescence reading, listening to Rock n' Roll and doing art. When she was sixteen years old, she spent a year in Iowa as an exchange student. She then went on to become a literature major at Haverford College. Gogo has published three books in Chinese and is a relatively well-known author among young Chinese readers.
